IMMIGRATION RESOURCES

In light of the current immigration situation in our country, which has resulted in widespread worry and uncertainty in our parishes, schools and communities, let us pray that our brothers and sisters living in fear may find strength and peace in our support through God’s work.

Below are links to two important resources for undocumented immigrants:

. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Immigration Resources page, which contains the most up-to-date immigration information.

. Frequently Asked Questions for Undocumented Persons in 2025, a comprehensive document created by the SoCal Immigration Task Force, which addresses many of the questions posed by our undocumented community, and provides practical guidance during these uncertain times.

FRANCISCAN JUBILEE YEAR 800th Anniversary of the Transitus of St. Francis

Pope Leo XIV has declared a Jubilee Year of St. Francis (January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027) with Plenary Indulgence for pilgrims visiting Franciscan churches. Archbishop José Gomez has designated 15 churches across Southern California where the indulgence may be obtained, including at St. Barbara Parish at Old Mission Santa Barbara. The Archbishop has framed this period as a “time of grace” intended to help the faithful grow in holiness, renew their care for creation, and strengthen their commitment to reconciliation and peace.

FAMILIES UNDER THE PEPPER TREE

Sunday, July 12

After the 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Masses

This summer we are launching a new initiative called Families Under the Pepper Tree — a simple yet important step to strengthen fellowship and belonging at our parish. Starting on Sunday July 12, we will gather in a welcoming space under the Pepper Tree in front of the Mission church after all Masses for coffee and light refreshments.

Our goals are to warmly welcome newcomers and visitors, give families and long-time parishioners a place to connect, and to create a visible “hub” where people can learn about ministries, events, and ways to serve. If you would like to help as a greeter, set-up helper, or server for refreshments, please email parishoffice@saintbarbaraparish.org or call the parish office.

Come join us under the Pepper Tree!
