IMMIGRATION RESOURCES

In light of the current immigration situation in our country, which has resulted in widespread worry and uncertainty in our parishes, schools and communities, let us pray that our brothers and sisters living in fear may find strength and peace in our support through God’s work.

Below are links to two important resources for undocumented immigrants:

. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Immigration Resources page, which contains the most up-to-date immigration information.

. Frequently Asked Questions for Undocumented Persons in 2025, a comprehensive document created by the SoCal Immigration Task Force, which addresses many of the questions posed by our undocumented community, and provides practical guidance during these uncertain times.

ST. CLARE: MORE THAN A CLOISTERED SAINT

Sunday, August 16

12:15 to 1:30 p.m. (Bonaventure Hall)

Led by Fr. Joe Schwab OFM

Many people know St. Clare as the founder of a cloistered community, but few realize the remarkable influence she had on the Franciscan movement and the life of the Church. Her hidden life has often led to the mistaken assumption that her impact was limited. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In this engaging presentation, Fr. Joe will uncover the seemingly small details of Clare's life that, when viewed together, reveal a woman of extraordinary courage, conviction, and spiritual insight. Guided by the Holy Spirit, she forged a distinctly feminine, independent, and deeply Christian path that continues to inspire believers today. Modern scholarship is bringing renewed attention to St. Clare's profound contributions to the Church and Franciscan spirituality. Come discover why her role in Church history deserves far greater recognition and how her witness can inspire anyone seeking to live the Gospel with faith, courage, and joy

FAMILIES UNDER THE PEPPER TREE

Sunday, August 2

After the 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Masses

Join us on August 2 after all Masses as we gather in a welcoming space under the pepper tree in front of the Mission church for light refreshments and fellowship!

It’s a wonderful opportunity to warmly welcome newcomers and visitors, give families and long-time parishioners a place to connect, and to create a visible “hub” where people can learn about ministries, events, and ways to serve. If you would like to help as a greeter, set-up helper, or server for refreshments, please click below, email parishoffice@saintbarbaraparish.org or call the parish office.

Come join us under the Pepper Tree!
